What is a corn maze?

Well, it's a great place to get lost in and have fun. It is a giant maze that is designed into a crop of corn. The corn typically grows 8 to 10 feet tall.

How is the maze created?

The maze is designed with specialized GPS (Global Positioning System) equipment. We start with a hand drawn sketch of the maze design, and then convert it into a computerized drawing. We then use the GPS system to guide us when cutting out the design in the corn crop. From start to finish, the Maze takes over 130 man hours to construct.

What should I wear to the corn maze?

We recommend dressing appropriately for the weather conditions. We also recommend that you wear footwear (e.g. running shoes) that is suitable for outdoor and potentially uneven surfaces. We also recommend that you dress for the special event we are hosting at the time of your visit. (E.g. western wear for the Crazy Cowboy Festival, and Halloween costumes for the field of screams).

What can we expect when we visit the Calgary Corn Maze?

You can fully expect to have a great time - not just in the maze, but also from our other activities on site (bale, stone and rope mazes, petting zoo, etc.). The Corn Maze is a unique and excellent way to have fun with friends and families.

Are pets allowed on site?

Pet's are allowed on site on Tuesday's for "Man's Best Friend Night". Bring your K-9 friend for a treat and a walk in the maze.

Is the site wheelchair accessible?

Yes and no. Although we do our best to ensure our site is wheel chair accessible, it entirely depends on the weather. As this is an outdoor activity, the pathways can become quite rough and possibly muddy. Even our common areas, where everything is grass can be fairly bumpy. If the weather is good and the pathways are packed down then it becomes accessible. The best bet would be to call the Calgary Corn Maze before you are thinking of coming to find out about the conditions.
