Autumn Pumpkin Festival

Our 2013 Autumn Pumpkin Festival is a must-do for your fall activitiy list. We're celebrating the best way we know how, and that's by bringing in pumpkins by the truck load. You'll have a chance to smash, stomp, and decorate pumpkins. We also have a wide array of mini, sugar, and jack o'lantern pumpkins available for purchase to take home.

Dates and Times: The Autumn Pumpkin Festival takes place on the following weekends:

  • September 28 & 29 - 10 am to 5 pm
  • October 5 & 6 - 10 am to 5 pm
  • October 12, 13 & 14 (Thanksgiving weekend) - 10 am to 5 pm
  • October 19 & 20 - 10 am to 5 pm (Please note that October 19 & 20 will take place only if the weather permits).

Please note that the Autumn Festival does not take place on Fridays.

Admission Pricing: $12+gst per person. Ages 2 and under are free. Children 12 and under will receive a free mini pumpkin.

This year's line-up of activities includes:

The PUMPKIN DESTRUCTION ZONE - The place everybody wants to be...unless you're a pumpkin. 

  • The Great Pumpkin Explosion - that's right, we're exploding pumpkins filled with candy for the kids. 12:00 pm and 2:30 pm daily.
  • The Ooey Gooey Pumpkin Stomp
  • Pumpkin Mallet  Smash

GAMES AND CRAFTS AREA

  • Pumpkin bowling
  • Pumpkin checkers
  • Pumpkin Bingo - prizes awarded to the winners - 11:00 am and 1:00 pm daily 
  • Cornstalk scarecrow making -10:00 to 4:00 pm daily
  • Mini pumpkin decorating - 10:00 to 4:00 pm daily

PUMPKIN PICKING

The types of pumpkins we have available (while supplies last) are:

  • Jack O'lanterns - Our Jack O'lantern sized pumpkins range between $.40 and $.50 per pound. The average weight of our pumpkins is typically 17 lbs (about 4 lbs bigger on average than your store bought pumpkins), so our average pumpkin will be approximately $6. All proceeds from the sale of Jack O'lanterns donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta.
  • Mini Pumpkins - We have Wee Be Little mini-pumpkins that are great for decorating, carving, or cooking. Mini-pumpkins are approximately 3 inches in diameter and 3/4 lb in size. The cost is $1.00 per pumpkin (including the cost to decorate them). Supplies are limited. 
  • Pie Pumpkins - Great for pies, carving, or its hulless seeds are great for roasting. Pie pumpkins are 7 inches in diameter, and 2 to 3 lbs in size. The cost ranges from $3 to $4.50 depending on pumpkin size and pie pumpkins range from 2.5 to 6 lbs in size. Supplies are limited.

EVERYDAY ATTRACTIONS

  • Corn mazes - Our famous giant 10-acre maze great for older kids and adults, and our smaller 2-acre kid friendly one
  • Barnyard petting zoo (goats, sheep, kittens, ducks, chickens, rabbits, miniature horses, miniature donkeys)
  • Pig races - 11:30, 1:30, and 3:30 daily
  • Jumping Pillows
  • Mini-Golf
  • Farm Playground (Train playground, cow milking, roping stations, spider web climber, hill slide, pedal karts, rubber duck races, etc.)
  • Tractor pulled Grain Train - Runs every hour on the hour (more often as necessary)
  • Cow Train - Runs every hour on the half-hour (more often if necessary)

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES (NOT INCLUDED IN THE ADMISSION PRICE) 

  • Gemstone Mining - Gembags range between $6 and $12 depending on bag size and gem types
  • Corn Cannons - $1 for 2 shots
  • Pumpkin Picking (see above for pricing)
